Kidney Transplant Coordinator Julie Haimes Recognized for Always Putting Patients First

As a kidney transplant coordinator at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Julie Haimes has touched thousands of lives over the years, and was recently honored with the “Patient First Award” from Hospital Center President John Sullivan, for her commitment to providing exceptional quality, safety and service to transplant patients.

MedStar Washington Hospital Center Honors Haimes with Prestigious “Patient First Award”

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 23, 2014–It has been an extraordinary month for Beltsville, Md.,-resident Julie Haimes, PA-C. As a kidney transplant coordinator at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Haimes has touched thousands of lives over the years, and was recently honored with the “Patient First Award” from Hospital Center President John Sullivan, for her commitment to providing exceptional quality, safety and service to transplant patients. “I have always wanted to work in healthcare and this job is truly a good fit for me,” said Haimes. “I appreciate this kind gesture, but the joy for me is helping patients get their life back.” Haimes has worked at the Hospital Center for more than 25 years. As a pre-transplant coordinator, she has evaluated, assessed and offered critical educational assistance to thousands of patients in the D.C. metropolitan area and beyond. Last month, Haimes received the 2014 Renal Professional of the Year Award from the National Kidney Foundation for her exemplary work.
