John Sullivan is the president of MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He brings more than 30 years of executive health care leadership experience and a commitment to excellence, quality, patient safety and service to the Hospital Center's management team.
Before coming to the Hospital Center, Sullivan spent five years with the Sisters of Mercy Health System in Chesterfield, Missouri, serving as the chief executive officer and before that, as the chief operating officer. Before joining Mercy, he served as the executive vice president of the Loyola University Health System in Chicago, IL, and held several executive roles at Resurrection Health Care, also in Chicago.
Sullivan received his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and his master's degree in hospital and health care administration from The University of Iowa in Iowa City.
