Vice President, MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute
As vice president of MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, Wendy Penny is responsible for daily operations and oversight of MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute.
Penny started her career at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, NJ, as a registered nurse, and then became the manager of two pediatric units and a pediatric special care unit. She was appointed the assistant administrator for the 350 bed mainland campus and was later named the assistant vice president of cardiovascular services responsible for all cardiovascular services across the AtlantiCare hospital system.
Before coming to MedStar Health, Penny joined the HCA/Osceola Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL as the vice president of Central Florida’s Heart and Vascular Institute.
Penny is a member of the American Academy of Medical Administrators, American College of Cardiovascular Administrators and holds a certification as nurse executive in administration.
Penny holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in Galloway Township NJ, and a Master of Business administration from St Josephs University Haub School of Business, Philadelphia, Pa.
