Dr. Fishbein is focused is on building a care program for patients with the hepatitis C viral infection. Infection rates are high, and many who are infected are not aware. With the new CDC/USPSTF recommendation that all baby boomers (born between 1945-1965) get tested, Dr. Fishbein expects to see higher rates of infection. A cure for hepatitis C virus exists, with new drugs approved that have minimal toxicity. Patients need to be tested and linked into care in order to be cured from this virus.
