Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health & Psychiatry
Our inpatient psychiatric program provides a therapeutic environment through an individualized treatment, developed by a highly skilled interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, expressive therapists, discharge planners and CD counselors.
Designed for acutely emotionally ill individuals who require 24 hour inpatient treatment, our emphasis is on using an interdisciplinary approach with intensive treatment. We focus on reintegration into the community and offer less intensive levels of treatment.
Using patient and family-centered care, resources are organized around each patient with input from loved ones and caregivers through the development of an individualized, comprehensive plan. The patient’s strengths provide the cornerstone of the treatment plan and drive treatment from admission to discharge.
The inpatient unit has a capacity of 46 beds (24 on Unit 2K and 22 on Unit 2L). Our services are available to adults (18 years and older) for the treatment of all types of psychiatric, mental and emotional disorders, and of organic disorders with emotional components, the symptoms of which place the patient at imminent risk of harm to self or others.
These units are open and staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, including holidays. The program is designed for patients with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. Short-term detoxification from alcohol or other substances may be provided along with alcohol and drug education to patients who have a secondary diagnosis of substance abuse disorder. Our primary goal for patients with a dual or co-occurring diagnosis is to medically stabilize the primary psychiatric disorder, minimize the concurrent withdrawal symptoms, and refer the patient to an appropriate substance abuse program for active substance abuse treatment.
Patients are admitted by psychiatrists privileged by the hospital. The hospital admits and treats patients without regard to race, religion, socioeconomic status, sex, sexual orientation, national origin or handicap. Sensitivity to the unique cultural, ethnic and religious diversity of each person provides a holistic, healing environment.
