Elizabeth "Liz" Lamme is a Certified Nurse Midwife with Women's and Infants' Services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center where she practices full-scope midwifery care. She received her Master's of Science degree in midwifery and women's health at Georgetown University and her bachelor's degrees from Johns Hopkins University (nursing) and SUNY Geneseo (psychology). She is a 2016 candidate for certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
Prior to joining the Midwives of MedStar Ms. Lamme was a labor & delivery nurse at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and also spent time as a doula providing support to women in labor and birth in Baltimore and D.C. Prior to becoming a healthcare provider Liz focused on health policy and advocated for expanded provisions for women's health in the Affordable Care Act. Ms. Lamme remains involved in health policy and is dedicated to advancing the professions of midwifery and advanced practice nursing. She serves on the DC Board of Nursing and is an active member in the DC Affiliate of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Liz is originally from the Finger Lakes in Upstate NY, but has called Washington, D.C., home since 2008. She lives in the vibrant neighborhood of Petworth and enjoys hiking and biking.
