Women's and Infants' Services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center has a comprehensive and distinctive complement of services designed to meet the unique health care needs of women at every stage of their lives.

We offer superior nursing care, in state-of-the art labor and delivery rooms and surgical suites. Our experienced team of neonatologists provides 24-hour coverage in a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. We deliver more than 3,400 babies and perform an average of 1,260 gynecological/gynecologic-oncology surgeries each year.

Research, Education and Outreach

Women's and Infants' Services is dedicated to advancing health care through ongoing participation in the latest research on female health issues. We also offer educational classes to provide valuable information about parenting. Women's and Infants' Services is proud of its community-service initiatives.

The Department reflects the graduate medical education commitment of the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. We feature an Ob/Gyn residency; fully approved and highly sought after. In addition, we have fellows in advanced training in maternal-fetal medicine, maternal-fetal medicine-genetics, pediatric & adolescent gynecology, urogynecology, and gynecologic oncology. The commitment to education includes programs teaching attending physicians from all over the United States in minimally invasive surgical procedures.
